Our History
HR Avin Associates, LLC was founded in 1983 by Hubert and Betty Avin. They approached their work as a calling to serve small business owners and individuals with year-round tax preparation, bookkeeping and payroll services. Their clients were like family to them and they often went above and beyond to meet clients’ individual needs. They kept their rates affordable charging below the national and local market prices for quality service. They both continued to support community causes through the American Legion, the County Fair Scholarship Committee with Mr. Avin serving as Business Manager, sponsoring students for Palmetto Girls’ and Boys’ State, and by supporting local schools. In 1997 Hubert Avin passed away and Betty Avin became the sole proprietor. She continued to serve the firm’s long standing clients and grew the business by hiring and training Associates. In 2016, Mrs. Avin became suddenly ill and transferred ownership of the company to her daughters, Renee Avin Mathews and Derinda Avin Connor. In addition, she hired and trained a General Manager for the firm. In 2017, HR Avin Associates expanded again with the addition of a highly experienced, lead tax consultant, additional staffing, service to schools, and enhanced cyber security.
